Ted’s eyes gave him more information than he wanted. In the deep sea, a large wave grew at a terrifying pace.
“We need to go,” Ted said to Jerry. “Now!”
Ted grabbed Jerry’s hand and hustled him toward the hotel. A few steps before the bridge, Ted looked up in time to see a new horror. A balcony on the hotel next to theirs had collapsed and dangled from the building.
“We can’t go back into the hotel,” Ted said. “It’s not safe.”
Ted looked at Jerry and saw a clear picture of fear in his eyes.

Ted kneeled.
“The main thing is to trust in Jesus,” Ted said. “No matter what happens today, we know God is in control. Right?”
Jerry lowered his head. Ted put his hand under Jerry’s chin and lifted it.
